WPS Office - what is this program and how to uninstall it
In an attempt to create a free copy of the popular MS Office suite, developers from Kingsoft (China) wrote WPS Office - what kind of program it is, whether you need it and use it or not. You will find the answers to these questions in our article.
Let's figure out what this one consists of free software, as well as how to properly remove it from your computer.
Features of the program
WPS Office is free set programs for writing and editing texts or calculation tables. Main feature is its free distribution.
After installation, three applications appear on the computer at once:
- Presentation- to create presentations with effects;
- Spreadsheets- work with notes, tables, graphs, calendar;
- WPS Writer- application for writing and editing texts in doc format.

Should you use it?
The UPU was originally created for China and adapted the program for the Asian market only. Several years ago, a Russian version of the WPS Office was created.
Be carefull! On the Runet, the program became viral - a huge number of assemblies appeared that installed not only the program, but also viruses, much like utilities from Mail.ru. Installed without the knowledge of the user.
New laptop models from Asus come with a pre-installed version of WPS Office with an already paid annual premium subscription. Also, users of Asus technology are provided with a $ 30 discount on the purchase of an annual subscription.
In general, if you have already bought a laptop with a pre-installed office, it will not harm the device, since the developer installs only original software versions.

If you find WPS Office on your computer after installing other programs and do not know what it is, we recommend that you uninstall the software. Most likely, it is infected with malicious files.
The virus utility is "embedded" into the WPS program code by third-party users and distributed over the network. Be careful!
If you notice the following features after installing the office, urgently uninstall the software:
Feedback from WPS users noted a frequent appearance in free version banners offering to buy a complete assembly of the program.
Also, similar banners appear on the desktop. In the free version of the program, most document templates are not available.

How to uninstall WPS Office
Before deleting the Chinese UPU office, you need to remove the processes in the task manager so that nothing gets in the way.
1 Press the key combination Ctrl + Alt + Del and select the Task Manager.
2 Find the ones of the same name and select all the programs that are running with the name UPU office and a red icon, there should be 3 of them.
Highlight the process, click right click mouse, choose from context menu Stop the process.

3 Open the "All Settings" window and go to the "Applications and Features" section or by using the Win + X keyboard shortcut;

4 Wait for the list of all installed programs to load;
Windows 7 users need to open Control Panel and go to the window Installation and removal of programms, find the WPS office and delete.

5 Select the Chinese office and click on the Remove button that appears;

6 The Kingsoft uninstaller window will open. In it you can specify the reason for deletion (optional), select “No feedback. Please uninstall WPS(Without feedback... Please uninstall WPS) ”.

If you somehow turned out to be exactly the Chinese version, then you can uninstall WPS Office in the same way, only you need to select the appropriate items, as shown below.

If you suspect that an application may have spread a virus to your computer, perform a system scan with Windows Defender or any other antivirus.

And also go to the registry (Win + R, enter the command regedit). Then press Ctrl + F and in the search enter WPS Office. Remove all parameters that will be found in the registry as shown below.

If you notice obvious slowdowns on your PC after installing the office suite, it is possible that malware has been installed on your computer. Deleting
There is nothing difficult in removing WPS Office installed from the official website, but you will have to work hard with malware. Most often, the uninstallation instructions (like the entire office suite) are in Chinese, so it is difficult to make out where the delete button is:
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc and deselect all software tasks (especially those in Chinese).
- Go to Explorer and run "Uninstall or change a program". Uninstall the WPS Office program. If not, sort the list by date and view the latest applications installed on your PC. Perhaps it will be spelled out in Chinese.
- The Chinese program can be found through "Start" in the list of applications. Select WPS Office and click on the first item.
- Then, in the window that opens, place the markers as shown in the figure.
- Go to the registry editor (Win + R command regedit). Press Ctrl + F and enter WPS Office in the search field. We delete all the parameters that were found in the registry.
WPS Office is an office suite for working with documents in PPT, DOC, XLS, PDF format for Android, designed to replace MS Office. Its main distinctive feature is free and functional.

The program has support for 44 different languages, which rightfully allows us to call it multinational. All this puts WPS Office in the category of applications that simply have to be installed on your smartphone or tablet.
WPS Office is a very good office suite that is almost as good as anything Microsoft Office, has a rather similar interface and is distributed "by subscription". The package consists of three components, one of which is responsible for working with text documents, the other is for creating and editing tables, and the third is for presentations. Each of the three applications completely "digests" documents created in all versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Actually, WPS Office was originally "sharpened" specifically for working with such documents, as well as many other common file formats. Moreover, this office suite supports Flash and is able to "convert" text files to PDF.
