In order to change the design for yourself, you need to go to the "Design Management" section in the control panel. At the top of the window there is a button "Constructor" with which you can edit your site in a browser window right on the site page. For now, let's look at the tools that are in the site's control panel. Click on the " Top part site "and a window for editing this site design template will open.

I'll tell you with a specific example how I made a template for uCoz. Is not detailed instructions and not a call to action, this is a simple story about how I made the template. I'll write about the last template, there is even a video. I wanted to shoot the whole process in full, but somehow I didn’t waste time on it, and I didn’t reveal any secrets yet, I removed only the creation of the layout and layout.

I have a list of ideas for materials and articles that need to be added to the site sometime, there are now 20 items on this list, but I like similar topics from this list more, where you do not need to give instructions, where I freely talk about this and that ...

1. Decided on the topic

I wanted to do something at the same time necessary and not difficult. By the way, I have another list - this is a list of template themes.

2. Made a layout (2 hours)

In terms of structure, I decided to make a simple and understandable template. I decided in advance what will happen, and the arrangement of the elements is only approximately. I opened Photoshop, looked at several analogs, these are interfaces on the topic of education.

Here is a video of how it happened.

Video withdrawn.

3. Layout (4-5 hours)

Everything is clear here. At first, I just laid it out as it is, and then added adaptability for cell phones... For this case, I did not make a layout, I came up with it on the go. There is a moment in the video when, due to an error, I ended up with a different kind of materials than in the layout, but I liked it, I left it.

Video withdrawn.

4. Pull the template onto uCoz

Well, I didn't just pull it on and that's it, the plan was to finalize the theme right in the uCoz control panel. I have always done this and will do so. I didn’t think through the pages carefully, but I don’t think I did it anyhow. Rather, in a simple way, but I didn't want to leave standard ones either.

5. Collected the template archive: scattered the code into files and wrote instructions

For about 2 days I was writing instructions and distributing the code to files and folders. This, I think, could be done in 2-3 hours.

6. Created a demo site

Yes, I made another website for the template to check the installation of the template, check the instructions. I found errors both in the instructions and in the template itself. In addition, at this time I was checking the topic in different browsers, found even more bugs. I fixed everything.

7. Made a presentation of the template

I made the description of the template by typing the instructions, and now I would like to add a long bright presentation of the template.

8. Added a template to uTemplate

I added it late in the evening, expecting to be shown errors as always and the template would need to be corrected. This time, this was not the case, the template immediately got into the catalog. I set the average price for the store, while there are no sales. Maybe it's not the season yet.

Usually I take a long time, I make the template within a month, without rushing. Here I worked more intensively, for 10 days. In these intervals, there are days when I did not advance the work in any way. I do it for a long time, not just because of my laziness, but because of the workload in my studies. With the site, in general, the same situation.

Nowadays, many people are familiar with the procedure for creating sites. Now it is quite popular, as many people make a living from it. What do we need to know about how to create our own template for the ucoz website before starting to do this? The most basic thing is that content I exist for creating site templates paid and free.

Ucoz content - is one of the most common free systems to create websites. Over the course of 9 years, this company has created more than a million active sites, and every day this figure is higher and higher. Many users work with the system, because I know that it will not let them down.

Basic ways to create templates

A necessary foundation for knowing how to create your template for ucoz website, is the knowledge and understanding of the basics of site robots. First, we need to be familiar with the principles of constructing the skeleton of the uCoz template. Instructions for this wireframe can be found in Control Panel »Design Management» Template Builder »Wireframe Example.

Distinguish between rubber and fixed templates. Rubber call templates that stretch to the width of the screen, and fixed - these are those for which the template width is set and does not depend on the width of the user's computer screen. Website creators recommend creating a fixed one, since working with it is much easier.

1. The first and most common is to create a template from scratch. The pattern is usually drawn in a program Photoshop, then it must be adjusted and adapted to the uCoz website system.

2. You can also create a template from HTML Template... One of the most simple ways creating a template, so there is already a ready-made template and we only need to mark it according to the rules for creating a wireframe uCoz template.

3. Another way to create is a template from PSD layout... This is a rather difficult method that requires additional knowledge. You have a template in the form PSD file... It needs to be opened in the program Photoshop, cut and adapt, saving files jpg, png, gif... After that, typeset as usual html page.

4. Adapting the template from another CMS... The hardest of all possible ways creating templates for uCoz... To do this, you need to download a CMS file from any site that offers these types of templates and adapt its structure to the structure of the uCoz template.

Minimalist and sophisticated, color and solid, dark and light - templates for uCoz, a wide selection of site design. The uCoz website builder has become popular because of its simplicity, accessibility and versatility. As a rule, users of this engine are beginners who do not want to learn any programming languages, but just want to create some simple portal. Sites created in the uCoz system are, as a rule, game portals, online cinemas and vares. It is their topic that most of the templates on the site are devoted to. true recent times, with the development of smartphones, many began to pay serious attention to and mobile versions sites, therefore PDA templates - will also not be ignored.

Templates for uCoz can be divided not only by "genres" - games, movies, programs, stores, etc. But also in more global sections, namely: Free, Paid, Unique, Adaptations. I would like to highlight adaptations separately, because this is a very popular topic, since templates made for the same engines - many would like to see them on uCoz, or even templates of some sites. In particular, I am engaged in the adaptation of templates, individual elements and scripts from third-party engines and sites - for uCoz.

Not all (except mine) templates for uCoz are equipped with installation instructions, so here I will tell you briefly and in general terms how this is done. Some templates also do not have a designer, that is, they are installed not by installing the main template - which sets the design for the pages of all modules at once, but by installing the template for each specific page separately. For everyone else, this instruction will be relevant.

How to install templates on uCoz?

1. Download the template archive and extract all files from it. Go to the control panel and fill required files to the root of the site, through file manager or FTP.

2. Installation of the frame. Copy the wireframe code and paste into the Template Builder.

3. Setting styles. If the files cSS styles are in the file manager, you don't need to insert anything into the CSS template. For example, I do this, because when using a special style template, there is a possibility that uCoz will "break" something in the framework, for example, such a jamb of the system. However, if the downloaded template still uses the "CSS stylesheet" template, then find the corresponding document in your archive, copy its contents - and paste it into this style template.

Although I would still recommend in this case to create for example a file style.css and insert all the styles into it, and fill the file itself into the file manager in the folder css, well, then write this file with styles in the template or templates between tags in this way .

About uCoz

UCoz - free hosting and a website builder created back in 2005. On this moment the system has over 20 modules that allow you to create a full-fledged website in a variety of areas uCoz quickly gained popularity due to its simplicity and affordability, although many do not like it for this, however, the disadvantages do not discard the advantages. Some statistics: uCoz is one of the 20 most popular Internet resources in Russia, and more than 1 million sites have already been created on it!

It starts with careful planning. To create a website, you need to decide on its theme, choose a design that will reflect this theme. It is easier to create a website on uCoz, since many are already built into the system itself. interesting designs, which you can simply change to fit your needs.

Site template - a set of pages designed and laid out in HTML, graphic and service files that can be used to create a typical website of any direction. As a rule, site templates consist of graphic design files of common formats (PNG, JPEG, GIF), placed in a separate folder; static html pages and style sheet (CSS) files, and in some cases also Flash.

Simply put, a template is appearance (design) of your site, which is the same on the same type of pages. Due to the existence of templates, you do not need to write the same code on each page: insert the site logo, make titles of the same color, etc.

A website template usually consists of a wireframe and a design itself. A skeleton is a base, like a skeleton: blocks, lines, tables, where the design will be strung. And design is the beauty of your site (color scheme of text, font, background, pictures, etc.). Today, in order not to reinvent the wheel, you can download many ready-made templates for any site.

UCoz Sites - Design Management

First of all, I would like to note that after creating a site, you have the opportunity to choose a design from a huge number of proposed ones.

Above, the very first is located Global block... This is the basis of your design. This block consists of containers, and their number depends on the design of your site.

Top of the site - edits the site header, graphics, drawings, etc.

Bottom of the site- edited bottom part site, you can put counters here.

First container (left) - the blocks on the left are being edited.

Second container (right) - the blocks on the right are edited.

There is no point at all to interfere with the First and Second containers, since it is much more convenient to edit them using the Constructor in the Admin bar from the site itself. (In the article "Site Management. First Editing")

Ucoz website page templates

Almost every uCoz site module consists of the following page templates:

Home page module - a page that displays materials of all sections and categories (general list of materials)

Page with a list of section material - the page on which materials of one section are displayed (how many sections - so many pages, there may not be a single section on the uCoz website)

Category list page - a page that displays materials of one category (there must be at least one category on the site)

All of the pages listed above have almost the same look and feel.

Material page and comments to it - the page on which the material added by you is directly located (article, file, photo, etc.)

Type of materials - how the materials will look in the list of materials on the listed first three pages: Module main page, Page with a list of section materials and Page with a list of category materials.

The page for adding / editing materials - a form for adding material.

The templates of the same name correspond to all these pages. You immediately understand what exactly and where you want to change. And even if you still have little understanding of what to do with all this. Make a backup of the template and feel free to experiment.

Very soon you will understand what and what!

Here is a simple example: let's say you want your name to be written on ALL pages of your site. To do this, you just need to write your name in the "Page Editor" template and your name will automatically appear on all pages.

Or, you want all files to be downloaded by pressing a certain button, you just need to write it once in the appropriate place (File directory - Type of material and comments to it) and never return to this question.

But this simple examples, in fact, these possibilities are much, much more extensive. Moreover, there is already a mass on the Internet. ready-made exampleswhere you just copy the code and paste it into your template, and your site can get the functions you want.

This is actually very convenient. And as soon as you try to change something, and you start to succeed, I think that soon your site will quickly change beyond recognition, for example, this site is a reworked standard design of uCoz # 839.

If you want to be the first to know about new articles on the site !!!
