At the same time, setting the necessary options when working with almost any modem D-Link series- a fairly simple procedure. However, there are particular features for each device. The next window, of course, will also require knowledge of data that can only be provided by the provider - this is a login and password. The remaining options on the page, as a rule, do not need to be adjusted (unless the provider's support service advises otherwise). Click Next.
Setting up the D-Link router of the series in question usually does not require adjusting the items on the page that opens, but it does not hurt to consult with the provider regarding this issue. If technical support specialists do not give any recommendations, click Next. After going to the next page - Apply ("apply settings"). Now let's move on to working with another important function, which includes setting up a D-link router - WiFi. To do this, press, respectively, Wi-Fi button, hereinafter - "basic settings". Next, we need to set up Wi-Fi. Select the appropriate item in the menu. Enter the desired name of the wireless network, configure security. As in previous cases, select the WPA2-PSK encryption standard, enter the password. Click "Change". Then select "System", then "Save". As we noted above, the D-Link 300 router is configured using almost the same algorithms. This device and D-Link 320 are actually devices of the same line.
Setting up the D-Link 615 modem
Consider how the D-Link 615 router is configured. First, we do everything that we did when working with previous modems: we connect the wires, set the automatic receipt of the DNS address and IP in the Windows interfaces. Next - go to the browser, enter 192.168.0.1 in the address bar. Enter admin in the username and password fields. If we have at our disposal a router released by D-Link, the configuration of this device, as a rule, is performed within the framework of very simple algorithms, which are generally similar for all device models. What features can be distinguished in relation to the configuration of devices of the types we have considered?
First of all, we note that, along with knowledge of the router configuration algorithm, information from the provider will be no less useful for us - and this main feature work with devices. This is due to the fact that even with the wrong connection, you can achieve, for example, that one computer has the Internet and at the same time digital TV works. However, this does not make it correct, and devices connected via Wi-Fi will report that “Connection is limited or absent” or “No Internet access”. Thus, the cable from your ISP (or the cable coming from your modem, if you have one) must be connected to the Internet port and only to it. The network card is connected to one of the LAN ports of the router using the included RJ-45 cable (standard network cable).

The first step (provided that the router is already connected) is to launch any Internet browser on the computer and enter the following address in the address bar: 192.168.0.1, then press Enter.
You will be asked to enter a username and password. The standard login and password for all D-Link DIR-300s is admin (i.e. we write the same thing in both fields - admin). How to set up a connection
The essence of configuring routers, including the D-Link DIR-300, is to initialize the Internet connection by the router itself, distributing it to all other connected devices. The settings for this connection in the router interface are the main necessary action.
It should also be noted that when setting up the router, as well as after it, the previously used connection on the computer should no longer be connected. Information about what type of connection your Internet provider uses can be easily found on the official website or you can look at the properties of the connection that was used on the computer to access the Internet.
In most cases, all you need to fill in besides the type of connection is the login and password that you received from the service provider, as well as the address VPN servers for providers using PPTP or L2TP connection.
After that, click "Save". And we find ourselves on a page with a newly created connection, which, as we are shown, is “broken”. Also on the top right you will see an indicator telling us that the router settings have been changed and now they need to be saved (second time). You should do this - otherwise, after rebooting the router or turning off the power, all settings will be reset. Refresh the connection list page. If you set everything up correctly, without confusing the password or type of connection, it will turn green, and the Internet will become available. Setting up a Wi-Fi hotspot
In order to set up a wireless network (in fact, it is already working, but it would be better if you name it somehow and set a password for Wi-Fi), we again go to the advanced settings page of the DIR-300 router and on the Wi- Fi click on the link "Basic settings".
On the page that appears, you can specify the name of the access point SSID, by which you will recognize your wireless network among your neighbors. You can also change other parameters here, but in most cases this is not required. Save your settings.
After that, on the same Wi-Fi tab, select "Security Settings". Here we can put a password on the Wi-Fi router D-Link DIR-300. To do this, select WPA2-PSK in the "Network Authentication" field, and enter the desired password for the access point in the "PSK Encryption Key" and save the settings.

As for setting up the D-link DIR-615, everything is very simple there. And if your provider uses Dynamic IP connection technology, then you just need to connect a router, and the Internet will already work. You will only need to set a password for the Wi-Fi network and change the network name if necessary. The only thing I don't like is that the settings in D-link change in almost every version (in appearance). I have entered the control panel of the router. Connect D-link DIR-615 and go to settings
Connect power to the router and turn it on. If the indicators on the front panel of the router do not light up, then check if the power is turned on with the button on the rear panel. If you will configure the router via cable, then take the network cable that comes with the kit, connect the router to the computer. One end of the cable is connected to black LAN connector (in 1 of 4), and connect the other end to the network card of the computer (laptop). Connect the cable from the Internet provider to yellow WAN connector.
If you do not have a computer with network card, or there is no cable, then everything can be configured via Wi-Fi. You can even use your phone or tablet.
You can also change the administrator password, which is used to access the router settings. If you did not change it, or changed it, but have already forgotten, then you can do this on the tab System - Administrator password.
Enter your new password twice and click Apply. Don't forget to save your settings.
